I think this session goes on the list of top 5 favorite sessions ever.
A lot of people asked me how I met Kayla and Cord; well, they mostly ask how I met Kayla.
The answer? I met her through INSTAGRAM!
Kayla and I connected on Instagram about a year or so ago, and quickly realized that we were kindred spirits. Our experiences, our hearts for the world, for art, and for people, and especially our passionate love for Jesus Christ took what could've been a one dimensional Instagram "friendship," and turned it into one of the most deep, valuable, and life changing relationships in my world.
To say I'm thankful is such an understatement.
Anyway, about a month ago, Kayla texted me asking me if I had some dates available in October. At this point, I had tried to plan a trip out to Tennessee about two times already, and both plans had fallen apart. God knew what He was doing though, because before I could even wrap my head around what was happening, Kayla and I were bouncing from the excitement over her and Cord's engagement. Fast forward about two and a half weeks, I was boarding a plane to Tennessee to finally meet one of the most wonderful people in the world, and through Kayla, that's how I met Cord.
I still laugh over the night we met, because Cord assumed Kayla and I knew each other previously. When he found out that our entire friendship was through Instagram and FaceTime, and that we had only met face to face a few hours before I met him, he reacted with shock because he didn't know that it was a common thing to meet and invite "strangers" that you connected with on social media.
...and as they say, the rest is history.
So if you're wondering about the buses and their significance to this shoot, apparently to the locals of Chattanooga, these buses were just left to rot on the side of the highway one day, and now they've become a popular spot for local photographers to go and explore.
Kayla, Cord, I know I've said this a thousand and one times, but once again, thank you.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be part of your special day. You two are such wonderful friends, and I can't wait to go to back to Tennessee to celebrate your love.
Have a good weekend, everyone!
